*God: Ineffable. Surely we cannot define or explain exactly who or what God is. We just know that He is. With eyes, one sees. With ears, one hears. With God, there is a knowing in one’s spirit. Why “He”? Because, as a mere human with a limited cognitive ability to fully comprehend the it-ness that is God, “He” is a general way for mortal man to understand the personhood of one in a relationship. And that’s what we have, God and me. A committed relationship. A convenental Love. That’s Us.

Let us not forget that God can be found in all things and that He can use all things, including: tarot, energy work, sound healing, Yoga, Qigong, astrology, Steinbeck, Ani DiFranco, Jim Morrison, Metallica, Satchmo, Michael Jackson, Ira with his stellar peanut-butter n’ jellies for us houseless people at Chico’s City Plaza while sharing love through the lyrics of Bob Dylan, a four-year-old in an Alabama public swimming pool sharing the importance of being honest, two wolves at midnight in a Milwaukie city park teaching about which one to feed, how observing fire burn can teach about purification and holiness, and how having your body used, your trust abused, your voice silenced, your existence ignored, your mind shattered, and your heart betrayed can develop great compassion and understanding for yourself and for others. God can use it all. Love can be found in all things. The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find it.
