He’s got a problem
Through a fault not his own
He walks as a blind man
And he walks it all alone

He suffers as he walks
A suffering he’s always known
You know of his problem
But him you just don’t know

From your height you cannot see him
The distance too far to allow
A proper view of his situation
To see the what for and the how

Oh you think you you can name the nouns, describe the adjectives, reenact the verbs
But clearly you can’t see the devastation and aptly can’t find the words

Your vantage point does not allow
An unveiling of his reality
If you keep climbing up the ladder
Widening the gap
Surely you will never see

You’ll fail to face who it is are

And what it is you’ve done

You’ll refuse to look into the mirror

And recognize that you and he are one
